Bree (Joanne)'s Story
One of my classmates, Luana Costa, inspired me to write a more complete story about where I've been and what I've done since our 1962 graduation so here it is.
Immediately following graduation, I took a position with CIT Financial where I worked as a secretary for 3 1/2 years. During that time, I married my high school sweetheart which ended in divorce some years later. Following my stint at CIT, I joined one of my former CIT bosses at Chrysler Financial, married my second husband and left Chrysler after 9 years to have my son, Serge. In 1983, a few years after divorcing my second husband, I met my present husband, Alex and we have been very happily married since 1986. We moved to Connecticut in 1988, first to Norwalk and in 1997 to a 1754 cape farmhouse in Harwinton where we currently reside. Our son, now 33, lives in NYC but loves to spend weekends with us in the country.
After years of studying classical dance, I switched to martial arts, Tae Kwon Do in particular, which I have done for the past seven years. I received my black belt on 10/25/08... a long but worthy journey.
I just celebrated my 63rd birthday with my wonderful family and in honor of that event and the receipt of my black belt , I got my first tattoo...the Korean symbols for Warrior.
